Neo4j names Kristen Pimpini as VP for Asia Pacific region
Tue, 30th Jan 2024

Neo4j, the leading provider of graph databases and analytics, declared today the appointment of tech industry seasoned professional Kristen Pimpini (KP) as Vice President for the Asia Pacific region. KP, who previously guided APJ for Twilio, brings with him more than two decades of leadership experience from corporations across Asia such as Braemac, Telstra, and Aspect Software (Alvaria).

With his base of operations in Sydney, KP is expected to lead a revenue team responsible for field and partner operations, services, and organisations dedicated to customer success. His new role places him under the direct supervision of Neo4j's Chief Revenue Officer, Alyson Welch.

This appointment comes on the heels of Asia Pacific emerging as Neo4j's most rapidly expanding region. The company experienced impressive double-digit growth in 2023 due to high levels of customer adoption of cloud technologies and generative AI. The growth trajectory is expected to continue throughout 2024. Neo4j's portfolio of enterprise customers in the region boasts the likes of Far EasTone Telecommunication Co., Healius, Keppel, Mercari.inc, Natixis, PT Pegadaian, Tata Consultancy Services, Tokopedia, Western Australia Police, WorkSafe New Zealand, and Woven Planet Holdings, to name a few.

Global Chief Revenue Officer for Neo4j, Alyson Welch, paid tribute to KP's legacy in the tech industry. She highlighted his unwavering commitment to strategic client relationships, value delivery, and fostering a cooperative winning culture. "He is the perfect leader to scale our operations and customers' success across the region," she stated.

Prior to his new role at Neo4j, KP led APJ for Twilio and garnered over 20 years of sales leadership with organisations all over Asia. He will take over from Nik Vora, who is relocating to Europe with his family the following month.

In December 2023, Neo4j was acknowledged as a 'Visionary' in the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud Database Management Systems (DBMS) among 19 other popular global DBMS vendors. Advancements on the technical front include the company's latest additions such as native vector search within its core database capabilities and strategic integrations with Google Cloud Vertex AI and AWS Bedrock. These developments aim to enhance GenAI performance and deter hallucinations.

In a statement, KP reflected on his new position: "Neo4j is at the epicenter of an enormous opportunity as graph technology reshapes the database market and drives better GenAI and analytics outcomes," he said. "I'm honoured to join this generational company whose customers are achieving transformative results for their data and their business."
