NetHui 2011 looks to shape digital future

Tue, 17th May 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The theme for this year's NetHui is 'shaping the future together', with which the organisers hope to focus discussion on broader issues of cybercitizenship, governance, openness and education - among others.

Currently scheduled sessions include discussions surrounding the legal implications of cloud computing, the future of copyright, combating cyberbullying and the internet as a revolutionary tool.

According to its website, organisers InternetNZ intend the hui to be a platform "for all those involved with the Internet in New Zealand to involve their communities. InternetNZ will act as a nucleus, with a variety of interested people and organisations planning and running individual discussion areas."

Two days of the event will consist of community discussions and issue-specific workshops, with panel discussions on the final day.

NetHui 2011 is slated for 29 June - 1 July this year, at the SkyCity Convention Centre.
