New AWS partnership speeds up hybrid cloud migrations

FYI, this story is more than a year old

BMC Exchange is collaborating with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

This latest partnership will offer a fast, secure, and cost-effective path for enterprises migrating workloads to AWS cloud.

The collaboration is especially motivated by the number of challenges businesses face when moving their data to the cloud.

According to the Frost - Sullivan Cloud User Survey, 57% of IT decision makers cite migrating data and applications to the cloud as a challenge.

"Customers want the ability to securely run their applications on AWS, and they want more choices in how their applications and services are delivered,” comments Bill Berutti, president, enterprise solutions, BMC.

Berutti says the collaboration addresses these challenges by combining BMC's deep IT and cloud management expertise with AWS' capabilities.

“Thanks to this collaboration, we will move businesses forward and help organisations more effectively migrate and manage their cloud environments and services.

This is not the first time the two companies have collaborated; many of BMC's multi-cloud solutions already run on AWS, including Remedy OnDemand, the TrueSight AIOps platform and Policy Service.

With BMC's platforms, businesses can decide which specific workloads they would like to move to the cloud.

For example, businesses with complex hybrid environments can use BMC Discovery for Multi-Cloud to give enterprise IT teams visibility and control over all on-premises and cloud IT assets and their relationships - across private and public clouds and in the data center.

TrueSight Cloud Cost Control is BMC's cost management solution which aims to help organisations forecast cloud expenditures before they migrate to the cloud.

Companies can analyse current and future costs, and the utilisation of cloud infrastructure services, providing insight over capital and operating expenditures.

"BMC continues to be a valued member of the AWS Partner Network (APN) and we are excited to expand our strategic agreement with them," comments Terry Wise, global vice President of channels and alliances, Amazon Web Services.

"Together, we are building and delivering seamless enterprise migration and management software solutions enabling our customers to rapidly deploy enterprise solutions on AWS with the security, reliability, scale, and choice required today."

In addition to being an AWS Technology Independent Software Vendors (ISV) Alliance Partner, BMC's solutions are also available on AWS Marketplace and its cloud management solutions are available today.
