FYI, this story is more than a year old

Spark Home, Mobile and Business has appointed former Nike executive Clive Ormerod as its new general manager for marketing, the telecommunications company announced today.

Jason Paris, CEO Home, Mobile and Business, says, “We are seriously excited to have someone of Clive's calibre moving into this crucial role for our business.

“As we approach our first anniversary at Spark we are looking to take our customers' experiences, our commercial results and our brand to the next level - and Clive is just the man for the job,” he says.

Ormerod held a number of key senior commercial and marketing roles over his seven-year career at Nike, most recently holding a spot on the Nike executive team for UK and Ireland as senior marketing director, responsible for all retail, brand communications, digital marketing, and consumer experiences, across one of Nike's most critical markets globally.

“He has shown at Nike that he can lead teams to success in fast, complex and competitive markets, with a relentless focus on the end consumer,” Paris says. “We're looking forward to welcoming him back to New Zealand – and welcoming him to Spark – later this year.”

Ormerod will start his new role at Spark come November 2nd 2015.

“Spark has an inspiring vision. I am excited by the opportunity and potential of the brand and business, and I can't wait to join the team and get started,” Ormerod says.

“The company is on a journey of change, where our future success will come by always starting with the consumer, and through continuous innovation in technology and digital services.

Ormerod adds, “I really look forward to the role that I can play in that.
