New solution monitors mobile internet usage

Openwave has unveiled a solution it says can effectively monitor, manage and monetise mobile data traffic.

The company said that the cloud-based analytics solution also features a set of reporting tools designed to perform “essential monitoring of mobile internet usage and behaviour”. This can then allows operators to improve efficiency without significant infrastructure investments.

“Analytics Express is designed for operators who are looking for insights to solve immediate network capacity problems and who are interested in new revenue opportunities arising from a better understanding of data traffic patterns and subscriber usage,” Anand Chandrasekaran, Director of Product Management, Openwave. “Analytics Express allows operators to quickly realise the benefits of operational insights in improving their network’s performance, with the option to upgrade to our fully featured Analytics offering as their needs evolve.”

Key features include:

  • Essential reporting across devices, subscribers, destinations and data traffic.
  • Rapid customization:  additional reports based on specific metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) can be easily added with a rapid turnaround time.
  • Fast integration of new data feeds supporting diverse log formats and transactional data with custom reports.
  • Seamless integration with other Openwave products extending rich, analytical support to Openwave’s portfolio.
The solution is expected to be available by the end of Q2, 2010.
