New Tauranga office enables Datacom’s plans for regional growth
Datacom has officially opened its new office in Tauranga, bringing together over 80 staff from two smaller offices in Tauranga and Mt Maunganui into a much larger space.
The new office can accommodate 40 additional people leaving room for significant growth. Datacom has a long-standing presence in the regions, and this expansion is a demonstration of the company's ongoing commitment to support regional economic development through job creation and business growth.
Datacom's Group CEO Greg Davidson said he is excited about the opportunities the new space will create. "Our new, expanded Tauranga office brings our people together to share skills and ideas to create better ways of working and to enable ever-better outcomes for our customers," Davidson said.
"We want to attract great people from the Tauranga region, and also attract people looking to relocate out of the big cities. We want to bring more young people into technology, through initiatives like our graduate recruitment program, and help provide a pathway into employment.
Tauranga Mayor Greg Brownless welcomed the opening.
"We're delighted that Datacom, New Zealand's largest IT services company, is expanding its presence in the Tauranga region. Tauranga is already a dynamic place for technology focussed businesses, so Datacom's expansion is good news for our region," Brownless said.
Davidson commented that the expansion in Tauranga is an expression of Datacom's confidence in its growth plans.
"Our growth is underpinned by our focus on connecting people and technology and helping communities and organisations to a better place. We have a strong commitment to social betterment in regions throughout New Zealand.
"In fact, the connectedness we are seeing in the regions from local businesses, local government, iwi, education and work readiness organisations is fantastic.
Datacom's new Tauranga office is in Harington St in the central business district.
Datacom works with organisations and communities around the world to solve their biggest challenges, imagine new possibilities, and help move them to a better place by connecting people and technology.
