New Zealand becomes a Microsoft priority

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Microsoft has classified New Zealand as a tier one country, which means it will join a number of countries (including Australia, Japan, India, Germany and Singapore) that will be first in line for new products rather than having to wait behind other major markets.

These products will include future releases of Windows Phone 7, Microsoft Online Services (BPOS), Windows Azure, SQL Azure, Windows Intune and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.

The decision was made based on a number of factors including market size and market maturity.

“This is great news and means New Zealand consumers and business will be among the first in the world to get their hands on some great technology and cloud solutions rather than have to wait and see it roll out in other markets or geographies,” said Misti Landtroop Director, Small and Midmarket Solutions & Partners. “Our business partners will also be ahead of the game and be the first in the world to have access to all these technologies and therefore able to provide innovative solutions to their customers.
