Nintex launches Solution Studio to simplify business automation

Today

Nintex has announced the launch of Solution Studio, a portal which enables businesses to design and build custom automation solutions for their unique organisational processes.

According to Nintex, Solution Studio is intended to streamline operations by reducing reliance on multiple disconnected software applications, giving IT and business teams the ability to centralise their workflows using AI-powered low-code automation technology.

In addition to the new portal, Nintex also introduced its latest pre-built solution, Nintex Employee Onboarding, designed to automate the coordinated tasks carried out by hiring managers, HR, finance, and IT to support the integration of new employees.

Industry observers emphasise the potential impact of such solutions on workplace efficiency. Maureen Fleming, Program VP, Worldwide Intelligent Process Automation Market Research and Advisory Service at IDC, said: "Organisations continue to manage many business processes manually or with a mix of disconnected software solutions, which is hindering their ability to drive efficiency and productivity. Custom solutions built on top of a process automation platform provide mid-market businesses and departments within enterprise organisations with a simple interface that allows them to easily solve complex business challenges without manual processes and multiple pieces of software."

With organisations focusing on improving operational efficiency, there has been an increased demand for IT teams to consolidate technology investments and replace standard software with bespoke, business-specific applications. Historically, developing such solutions proved to be costly and resource-intensive. However, advances in artificial intelligence and low-code automation have made it possible for IT teams to build custom solutions more easily and at a lower cost, all from a single platform.

Nintex states that Solution Studio provides several features aimed at simplifying the development and management of automation tools. These include configurable and reusable modules, such as templates for approval flows or document generation, which can be replicated across various teams and systems without the need for recoding. The new portal also offers a unified development environment incorporating application development, document generation, e-signature, and workflow automation functionalities. Governance is supported through a centralised dashboard, enabling oversight of solution development, tracking usage, enforcing organisational standards, and managing access rights.

Bill Vencil, Associate Director at Protiviti Software Services, commented on the potential of Solution Studio: "We work with clients on a daily basis to effectively leverage, optimise, and strategically implement purpose-built Nintex solutions. We see a lot of opportunities and business cases in the marketplace for Solution Studio since it accelerates implementation of solutions to complex processes."

Automating critical, cross-functional business processes such as employee onboarding can present challenges relating to limited IT resources, development costs, and lengthy deployment. Nintex argues that pre-built solutions are a viable approach to overcome these hurdles, facilitating faster and more tailored implementations for specific use cases.

Niranjan Vijayaragavan, Chief Product Officer at Nintex, highlighted the focus on efficiency among organisations seeking to optimise their technology stacks: "Efficiency is top of mind for organisations today, which has led many to consolidate their business application portfolio by building custom solutions leveraging AI and low-code platforms. Our partners and customers can now easily build purpose-built solutions or leverage pre-built solutions that quickly drive value by automating complex business processes."

Currently, Nintex offers two pre-built solutions. The new Employee Onboarding solution is designed to minimise the time required to complete onboarding tasks, with the aim of accelerating new employee productivity, reducing costs related to onboarding delays, and easing administrative workloads for HR, finance, and IT teams. The Licensing and Permitting solution focuses on digital transformation for the public sector by streamlining complex permitting processes, thereby improving experiences for citizens and businesses, and reducing manual tasks for government staff.
