Nokia has announced that its first Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 920, will be available in New Zealand from Telecom at the end of November.

The phone manufacturer says the flagship product combines the familiar Lumia design inspiration with the latest advancements in PureView camera technology.

Coming with built-in wireless charging and Near Field Communication (NFC), Nokia says the smartphone boasts the "most advanced, feature-rich location experience of any smartphone with the addition of augmented reality tool Nokia City Lens to Nokia Maps, and enhancements to Nokia Drive."

“We’re excited to offer our customers the Nokia Lumia 920 - the first Windows Phone 8 device to launch on the Telecom Smartphone Network," said Jason Paris, chief marketing officer, Nokia.

"We believe Windows Phone 8 will go down extremely well with our customers, whether they are using it for business or in their daily lives, and of course the Nokia Lumia 920 has a ton of features that make it stand out - the top quality camera and mapping, and wireless charging - to name just a few.

“We are also pleased to bring another device onto the Smartphone Network that is dual carrier capable, as Telecom expects to have rolled out dual carrier HSPA+ technology to 30% of our network by Christmas.”

The Nokia Lumia 920 will be available in black for an RRP of NZD$999.00.
