NTT appoints New Head of Cybersecurity in New Zealand
Sun, 5th Feb 2023
FYI, this story is more than a year old

NTT, an IT infrastructure and services company, has appointed Darren Ryland as Head of Cybersecurity for New Zealand. The move is a response to the growing number of local clients who are seeking to strengthen their cybersecurity services.

Ryland will lead the cybersecurity team in helping New Zealand organizations improve their network security, identify IT security issues, and make informed cybersecurity decisions.

He brings over 30 years of experience in the cybersecurity and IT sector, including his most recent position at Lexel Systems, where he developed Microsoft security specialization capabilities.

Ryland previously worked at NTT for 11 years, where he specialized in the service provider vertical.

"Amidst increasing cyberthreats to critical business infrastructure, businesses need to act fast and ensure that their networks are secured and well-protected," says Simon Gillespie, CEO, NTT New Zealand.

"Darren has a proven track record of operational excellence in network security and leading the charge with developing deployment models."

"Joining NTT was a natural choice for me. I am delighted to be joining the team at such an opportune time to help shape the local IT space and help our clients develop strong cybersecurity practices," says Ryland, Head of Cybersecurity, NTT New Zealand.

NTT has doubled down on its national presence in New Zealand by launching a team in Dunedin late last year. The company's focus on strengthening its cybersecurity service is a response to the growing demand for secure networks and well-protected critical business infrastructure.
