NZ financial results for Samsung, Juniper and Dicker Data
Samsung Electronics New Zealand, Dicker Data NZ and Juniper Networks Australia have all posted strong financial results for the year ending December 31, 2021.
Samsung Electronics New Zealand
Samsung's revenue from contracts with customers grew by 22.6%, from NZD $590.7 million in the year ending December 31, 2020, to NZD $724.3 million at the end of last year.
The company's expenses, including advertising, commission and service charges, transportation and distribution and warranty, all rose, but finance expenses decreased from $230,000 to $159,000 in the same period.
Samsung's profit after income tax increased by 64% rising from NZD $6.8 million in 2020 to $11.2 million in 2021.
Dicker Data NZ
Dicker Data NZ's sales revenue more than doubled between the year ending December 2020 and the year ending December 2021, jumping from NZD $151.8 million to $345.6 million.
That's despite expenses across purchasing, employee benefits, and insurance all rising in the same period.
Dicker Data NZ's profit after income tax more than tripled from NZD $1.4 million to more than $5 million between 2020 and 2021.
While Dicker Data Services, which includes third-party logistics and configuration, was the company's best-earning service in 2020, bringing in $82.8 million, its infrastructure and virtual services brought in the lion's share of the revenue in 2021 - a whopping $235.1 million.
The company's software service revenue, which includes perpetual and subscription licensing and cloud products, also grew by 50%, reaching $10.7 million in 2021.
Dicker Data is a technology distributor with over 30 years of local experience in New Zealand. It distributes a portfolio of products from vendors, including APC, Citrix, Dell Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, and other Tier 1 global brands.
Juniper Networks Australia
Juniper Networks Australia's revenue grew by 12.5% between the year ending December 31, 2020, and the year ending December 31, 2021, from USD $107.7 million to USD $121.2 million.
The company's administrative expenses rose from USD $27.7 million to $31.7 million in the same period, an increase of about 14%. However, Juniper Networks Australia's selling and distribution expenses decreased from USD $493,053 to 386,795.
The company's profit after income tax was up in the same period - USD $1.2 million in 2021 compared to just over $600,000 in 2020.
Juniper Networks Australia's routers, which were its best-earning service in 2020, continued to bring in the most revenue in 2021, from USD $56.6 million to $62 million.
However, its security services saw the biggest jump from $19.7 million in 2020 to $27.3 million in 2021 - an increase of more than 38%.
