NZ first as Dimension Data offers businesses double public cloud solutions
Dimension Data will be the first public cloud service provider in New Zealand to offer its clients both global and local cloud solutions after today announcing the addition of an Auckland-based Managed Cloud Platform (MCP).
Set to launch in the 4th quarter this year, the new facility brings Dimension Data’s total number of global MCP locations to 13 and is expected to address the demand for enterprise-class cloud services in New Zealand.
James Walls, CTO of Dimension Data New Zealand, says the development is in response to demand, with many clients wanting a provider with both global and local capabilities.
“Kiwi organisations are jumping head first into cloud and have created a demand for a data center onshore to support their operations as well as business continuity, backup and replication," he says.
"Our aim is to help our clients accelerate their ambition, and we believe our local presence and global reach can allow them to do just that.
“This service brings world-class compute facilities to New Zealand agencies and enterprises.
"It accommodates specific application workloads as well as entire production environments and provides them with the ability to dial services up and down in response to demand.
“The new service gives clients access to a world-class local platform, as well as to our multiple global MCPs.
"This means export-oriented organisations have the opportunity to expand their business worldwide with low-latency access to secure, reliable, scalable cloud services.”
