Echoing the Microsoft mantra, New Zealand's Frazer Scott tells Kiwis the company has listened with Windows 8.1.

Speaking at Microsoft's TechEd New Zealand 2013 conference today, the Microsoft New Zealand Marketing and Operations Director was short but sweet when it came to the operating system update.

"We've listened," he told a packed media assembly at the Microsoft devices stand.

"Windows 8.1 is a continuation of Windows 8. We've heard your feedback and we've made the changes."

Speaking in front of a back drop of Surface devices aplenty, Scott spoke of Windows 8.1 as the consistent OS of choice for users, tapping into the anywhere, anytime or any device philosophy within the company.

"Windows 8.1 allows a consistent experience wherever you travel.

"It follows you everywhere on any device, not locking you into one particular product."

Introducing an array of new devices, 3D printing and apps, as well as Windows 8.1, Scott, as well as the many Microsoft New Zealand colleague also attending, are essentially signing off the same Windows hymnbook.

“We're going to spend a lot of time today also talking about Windows 8.1," said Steve Ballmer earlier this year.

But while Scott's address was keynote material in length, it was concrete in it's message.

Much preferring to allow both the OS and the accompanying hardware to speak for itself, Microsoft are confident they've nailed it second time around.

That's providing you had any problems with Windows 8, of course.
