FYI, this story is more than a year old

The NZICT has launched a competition aimed at educating small to medium-sized businesses on how they “can become smarter” using technology.

The competition hopes to raise awareness around investment in technology for businesses and how fast broadband can enable smarter use of technology for SMBs.

NZICT says it will match the winner’s financial contribution up to a maximum of $10,000 with ICT goods and services. The group will also supply a consultant for four days,

“We want to encourage and inspire other SMBs to think laterally when investing in technology and how they can utilise technology and broadband in a smarter way,” said, NZICT Vice Chair Andrew Hunt.

“By showcasing an ICT project from start to finish, NZICT aims to grow understanding of how technology can positively alter New Zealand businesses,” he added.

The competition will close on October 30th, 2010. During November, NZICT will shortlist a maximum of five entrants.

Winner, or winners, will be announced in December. Find out more here.
