One New Zealand to relocate Auckland office to Wynyard Quarter

One New Zealand has announced plans to relocate its Auckland Support Office from Smales Farm to 30 Daldy Street in Wynyard Quarter by late 2025. The new building, currently under construction by Mansons, is designed with a focus on connection, future ways of working, employee wellbeing, and sustainability.

“We’re excited to be moving! After around seven years on the Shore, we’re heading back over the bridge to Wynyard Quarter,” said Jodie King, Chief People Officer at One New Zealand. “As a business, we are focused on creating connections and unlocking the magic of technology to help our customers thrive. Moving to a more central location, surrounded by many of our business partners and customers, will enable us to enhance those connections.”

King elaborated on the company’s plans to work with its teams over the coming year to design a workplace fostering collaboration, innovation, and staff wellbeing. The new office setup will support hybrid working models and include private areas for focused work alongside flexible spaces that facilitate connection and development opportunities.

The development of 30 Daldy Street aims to exemplify best practices in both environmental and wellness standards, aligning with One New Zealand’s Sustainability Kaupapa and goals. The building is aiming for a 6-star Green Star rating from the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC), highlighting excellence in sustainability throughout its design and construction.

The office will feature two towers connected by a large atrium with inter-tower air bridges. One New Zealand will occupy three floors in each tower, incorporating wellbeing and social spaces intended to promote staff connection.

“Employee wellbeing is incredibly important to us, and we’re committed to incorporating sustainability as we create our new office space,” King added. Sustainable design features of the new building include electric vehicle and bike charging stations, close links to public transport, renewable energy sources such as solar panels, and rainwater harvesting systems. “We appreciate the efforts by Mansons to ensure 30 Daldy Street is a leading example of sustainable and healthy building practices in New Zealand, to create an even better workplace for our people.”

The building is targeting a Platinum WELL rating by the International WELL Building Institute, ensuring it meets high standards for occupant health and well-being. One New Zealand’s energy performance during its tenancy will be monitored using NZGBC’s NABERSNZ system, targeting a 5-star rating to drive energy efficiency. Mansons has committed to offsetting 120% of the construction’s carbon impacts, and for every square metre of office space created, one native tree will be planted.

Until the move is completed in late 2025, One New Zealand will continue to operate out of its current location at Smales Farm.
