Telecommunications and technology firm One New Zealand, commonly known as One NZ, has confirmed the appointment of Nick Quin as its new Head of Public Sector. Quin's mandate includes strengthening and enhancing the company’s relationships with the government.

According to Mike Purchase, One NZ Enterprise Director, “One NZ is a key partner for many of the government services that New Zealanders rely on every day. We’re proud of the services our telecommunications, connectivity and security services provide in enhancing the lives of New Zealanders.”

In addition to offering communications and IT services to diverse public sector clients, One NZ also jointly launched Hourua with Spark NZ last year. This venture is responsible for the delivery of the Next Generation Critical Communications’ Public Safety Network, designed to support emergency responders with access to data, voice, text, video, and image communication.

As Mike Purchase added, “Nick will play a crucial role leading our engagement with government customers to support their technological transformations. He brings valuable experience in guiding organisations as they adapt to new technology to better serve their customers and stakeholders.”

Quin, previously with SAP where he headed the public sector business for the past seven years, also enjoyed successful tenures at global technology companies where he managed sales and leadership roles across Australia, Asia, the UK, and New Zealand.

Quin expressed his enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “I’m excited about working for a New Zealand owned and operated business, and with a team dedicated to enabling our government to operate more effectively and efficiently, as well as positioning our country to be at the forefront of innovation and AI adoption.”

He further emphasised One NZ’s pivotal role, stating, “One NZ has a key role in providing essential infrastructure in this country and significantly contributes to providing resiliency and security to the government sector, which in turn helps protect New Zealand and its citizens. The telecommunications and technology industry is extremely dynamic. I look forward to working with my team to strengthen relationships with our government customers and deliver better outcomes for New Zealanders.”

The wide range of enterprise connectivity products provided by One NZ includes unified communication services, managed networks, contact centre and cyber security. The company has established credible partnerships with DEFEND, Palo Alto Networks, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, AWS, and others, to supply its customers with world-class technology solutions.

Quin will be based in Wellington and will join the One NZ Enterprise Leadership Team.
