Oracle repairs Java software bug

Fri, 31st Aug 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Oracle has solved its Java software breach days after PC users became vulnerable to hacker attacks.

The Java software security scare caused many industry experts to urge users to disable the software in their browsers after becoming open to indefensible hacker attacks.

Oracle initially declined to comment on the security scare as security researchers claimed the company knew since April about the existence of two unlatched Java 7 vulnerabilities.

Yet Oracle has now computer users to install the latest version of the program as soon as possible to fix the issue.

The widely installed free software from Oracle opened computers to security threats which experts say are impossible to combat.

Security firm Rapid7 issued a statement saying it had tested Oracle’s update which appears to have fixed the error.
