Outpayce & Etraveli Group team up to combat travel fraud
Outpayce from Amadeus and Etraveli Group have announced a partnership aimed at addressing fraud in the travel industry. The collaboration will allow airlines and other travel stakeholders using Outpayce's Xchange Payment Platform to benefit from Etraveli's Precision risk management solution through a single connection.
Etraveli Group, known for its extensive fintech capabilities and over 20 years of industry experience, originally developed Precision for its own online travel agency brands. The technology screens multibillion-dollar transactions in more than 200 countries, and it is now being made available to the wider travel industry.
Fraud presents a significant challenge for airlines. Research from RSA Security and Juniper Research has revealed that 46% of all fraudulent transactions occur in the airline industry. Additionally, half of the travel payments leaders surveyed in Amadeus' most recent Travel Technology Investment Trends research identified fraud as their biggest challenge.
The Precision system screens transactions in real-time using multiple technologies, allowing travel companies to identify fraud with greater accuracy. The technology delivers direct decisions to either approve or decline transactions, or it applies targeted 3D Authentication, thus minimising unnecessary authentication steps and ensuring a smooth payment experience for travellers.

Earlier this year, Etraveli Group and Outpayce's parent company Amadeus, agreed on a strategic initiative. This partnership allows both companies to access each other's travel content. Amadeus will source and distribute selected content from Etraveli Group, including virtual interline options from Etraveli's subsidiary TripStack, to its network of travel sellers. Under the terms of the agreement, Amadeus will become Etraveli Group's primary source for New Distribution Capability (NDC) content.
