Peak Technologies has appointed Gary Williams as Chief Operations Officer, putting him in charge of the company's Services business.

Williams joins as Peak expands its leadership team under the ownership of private equity firm Sole Source Capital. The appointment is part of a broader push to serve customers across retail, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation and logistics, healthcare, and field service.

He will oversee Field, Depot, Managed, Professional and OEM Services, as well as attach and renewals, operational discipline, service delivery performance, and new services and software offerings.

The appointment puts a long-time technology executive in charge of a unit central to how Peak supports customers after deployment. In systems integration groups, services businesses often play a significant role in recurring revenue, customer retention, and operational performance.

Williams brings more than 20 years of experience in technology. Before joining Peak, he held senior leadership roles at Honeywell and later Brady IPS, where he led service, software, OEM, and voice guidance operations.

He also has experience in sales operations, analytics, and customer delivery. Those areas are closely tied to service operations as industrial technology and automation companies look to tighten execution while expanding software and support revenue.

Peak is backed by Sole Source Capital, a Dallas-based private equity investor focused on industrial and business services markets. In fragmented sectors, firms in this part of the market have often placed greater emphasis on leadership hires that can improve performance across service lines and support expansion.

Peak operates as a systems integrator and supplier of technology-led services for industries with large mobile workforces and complex supply chains. Its work spans RFID, machine vision, robotics, process analytics, and AI, alongside managed services and mobility-related tools.

That breadth means the Chief Operations Officer role covers both frontline service execution and the commercial side of after-sales relationships. In practice, that can include improving renewal rates, standardising service delivery, and building software-linked support offers for customers and original equipment manufacturers.

Joe Heel, President and Chief Executive Officer, said the appointment is tied to the company's next stage of development. "Gary's appointment reflects our commitment to building the leadership capabilities required for Peak's next stage of growth," he said.

Heel said Williams would oversee core parts of the operations function. "With his focus on operational discipline and service performance, Gary is perfectly positioned to oversee our key Operations areas. We are excited for him to strengthen our capabilities and improve service delivery for the company's customers and OEMs," he said.

Peak has built its business around supplying and integrating technologies used on shop floors, in warehouses, across transport networks, in healthcare settings, and in field operations. Demand in those sectors has increasingly centred on tools that help employers track assets, support workers in real time, and manage fulfilment or service tasks across dispersed sites.

For providers in that market, services have become a growing focus as customers seek longer-term support rather than one-off product sales. That has increased the importance of executives who can deliver operational consistency while linking service delivery to software and broader account growth.

Williams' previous roles at Honeywell and Brady IPS suggest a background spanning industrial technology, service, and software management. At Brady IPS, he oversaw service, software, OEM, and voice guidance businesses, giving him responsibility across several categories that overlap with Peak's customer base.

Peak did not disclose financial terms related to the appointment. Williams will be responsible for all aspects of the Services business.
