Pegasystems has unveiled Pega GenAI Socrates, a generative AI tutor designed to enhance corporate learning by dynamically teaching core Pega skills. This innovation was announced at the company's annual conference, PegaWorld iNspire, in Las Vegas. The new AI tutor marks a significant shift from conventional online corporate learning methodologies.
Pega GenAI Socrates differentiates itself by fostering a continuous interactive dialogue that adapts to each student's specific industry, skill level, and learning requirements. This personalised approach is intended to help users learn Pega more quickly and effectively, resulting in better knowledge retention and a more skilled workforce.
Traditional corporate learning methods often involve tedious, lecture-based courseware that values memorisation more than understanding concepts. These methods tend to employ one-size-fits-all lessons that make minimal accommodations for the varying skill levels and needs of individual students. The learning material is typically forgotten by the majority of participants within a month, leading to significant skills gaps within organisations.
Now available within select Pega Academy courses, Pega GenAI Socrates offers an intelligent, on-demand tutoring experience that redefines how corporate e-learning is conducted. Inspired by the Socratic method, the AI tutor engages students in a two-way conversation, asking open-ended questions on each learning objective, akin to an attentive teacher in a classroom setting. The initial rollout of Pega GenAI Socrates is available now in Pega Academy's most popular course, the System Architect Mission. The AI tutor will be integrated more extensively in the coming months and is set to be part of Pega Flex, a hybrid learning experience that combines instructor-led training with Pega Academy's online content. Initially, Pega GenAI Socrates will provide instruction in ten languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, and Japanese.
