Thu, 4th Jul 2024

New Relic has announced the appointment of Peter Marelas as the Field Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. Marelas, who previously served as the Chief Architect for APJ at New Relic, will take on this newly created role immediately. In his new position, Marelas will work alongside key customers to solve complex technical challenges and will promote New Relic and its observability solutions through speaking and executive engagements across the region.

"We are thrilled to have Peter take on the newly created role of Field CTO for APJ. His deep technical knowledge and focus on customer success will be crucial in scaling our operations, while he continues to communicate and evangelise the value of full-stack observability to our customers, partners, and the broader industry," said Rob Newell, Vice President of Solutions Consulting for Asia Pacific and Japan at New Relic.

Marelas brings over 25 years of experience in the technology sector, having led transformative programs and teams at various companies, including Dell and EMC. His expertise spans a range of areas, with multiple qualifications and patents in data science, deep learning, data engineering, data management, cloud engineering, and security. This extensive background is expected to play a pivotal role in his new responsibilities at New Relic.

Commenting on his new role, Marelas said, "I'm honoured to take on the role of Field CTO for New Relic in the Asia Pacific region. I've had the privilege of helping countless customers across multiple industries during my tenure at New Relic, and this new position will enable me to get even closer to our customers by helping them bridge the gap between technology, observability, and business strategy."

New Relic's observability platform is relied upon by several leading organisations in the APJ region, including Australia Post, Tokopedia, ANZ Bank, Dominos, Zomato, Flight Centre, IAG, HT Digital Streams, HealthifyMe, and Virgin Australia. These companies leverage New Relic's tools to achieve greater scale and efficiency, improve uptime and performance, and accelerate time-to-market, thereby enhancing their customer experiences.
