Pharmx partners with Toniq to enhance pharmacy efficiency

Yesterday

Pharmx Technologies has entered into a strategic partnership with Toniq, a prominent provider of pharmacy point-of-sale (POS) and dispensary solutions in New Zealand.

Toniq, a part of the Clanwilliam Group, supports over 900 pharmacies in New Zealand and holds a significant market share in the nation's pharmacy software sector. This partnership will enable pharmacies within the Toniq POS network to utilise the Pharmx Gateway, an electronic data interchange designed to enhance real-time inventory ordering, automate eInvoice generation, and improve supplier connectivity.

The agreement aims to offer Pharmx's supplier customers expanded reach and new opportunities for business growth in the ANZ region. Pharmacies stand to benefit from greater efficiency and a shift towards more patient-centric care by reducing administrative tasks related to ordering and inventory management.

The Pharmx Gateway is specifically designed to streamline pharmacy operations by improving order accuracy, reducing manual processes, and providing real-time inventory control. Key features such as automated e-invoice production and direct supplier connections are expected to alleviate administrative workloads and optimise transaction workflows.

Pharmx reports that the Gateway saves pharmacies an average of 40 minutes per order, which annually equates to the workload of one full-time employee. Suppliers are also anticipated to save approximately 15 minutes per order in processing time.

With this new partnership, Pharmx's strategic alliances in New Zealand mean the company now claims 99% coverage across the country's pharmacy sector. This coverage extends Pharmx's reach to 99% across both Australia and New Zealand. Although the material financial impact of the partnership with Toniq cannot be accurately forecast at this stage, the company views this development as solidifying its position as a major player in the pharmacy ordering network.

Tom Culver, CEO of Pharmx Technologies, remarked, "The Pharmx Gateway has revolutionised pharmacy supply chains in our existing markets, and we are thrilled to bring this innovation to New Zealand through a strategic partnership with a like-minded industry leader. Together, Pharmx and Toniq are on a mission to empower pharmacists, freeing them from the burdens of manual ordering and inventory management so they can focus on what truly matters—patient care. By extending Pharmx's services to new regions, we are enabling more pharmacies and suppliers to embrace a connected, technology-driven, data-led approach to inventory and order management."

The collaboration is expected to utilise the strengths of Toniq's extensive pharmacy retail network and current workflows, combined with Pharmx's technology infrastructure, to enhance efficiency in the New Zealand pharmaceutical supply chain.

Toniq also commented on the partnership, stating, "Toniq is a premier provider of pharmacy management software in New Zealand, dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of pharmacy operations. With a focus on innovation and user-friendly solutions, Toniq offers a comprehensive suite of tools designed to streamline various aspects of pharmacy management. We are thrilled to announce a ground-breaking partnership between Toniq and Pharmx, aimed at revolutionising the pharmacy ordering experience. This collaboration brings together Toniq's innovative pharmacy management software and Pharmx's advanced ordering solutions to create a seamless, efficient, and user-friendly system for pharmacies. Together, Toniq and Pharmx are committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions that empower pharmacies to provide the best possible care to their patients."
