Philips launches ScreenShare for wireless content sharing

Yesterday

PPDS, the provider of Philips Professional Displays, has introduced Philips ScreenShare, a new software solution for seamless wireless content sharing.

Philips ScreenShare aims to enhance educational and corporate settings by transforming any teaching or meeting space into a secure environment without requiring additional hardware. The software has been pre-installed on new Philips Collaboration BDL3152E and BDL4152E interactive displays and is available for download via PPDS Wave for existing models.

The solution, developed in collaboration with DisplayNote, supports a wide range of devices and operating systems, including Windows, Mac, iOS, iPadOS, ChromeOS, and Android, as well as AirPlay, Google Cast, and Miracast for maximum compatibility. It allows a presenter and up to 100 participants to connect and share content wirelessly from their personal devices.

Global Business Development Director Education and Corporate at PPDS, Frank Trossen, stated: "With Philips ScreenShare, we have removed all obstacles to ensure every single person in the room has an equal voice and opportunity to contribute, whether that's in a classroom, a meeting room, or the boardroom. Even the quietest person can enjoy their share of voice and present with confidence with Philips ScreenShare."

Phillips ScreenShare is designed for ease of use, requiring minimal training and providing extensive control over shared content. The system uses a unique six-digit code for access that refreshes automatically, enhancing security by disconnecting all devices at the end of each session.

Participants enter the code into the Philips ScreenShare app or web browser on their devices, enabling the presenter to wirelessly manage and present their material on the display. The software supports all file types, making it a flexible tool for various presentations.

The software also features "GridView" and "extended GridView" modes, allowing up to nine devices to display their screens simultaneously. It enhances interactivity with Annotation Mode and a Whiteboard feature, enabling presenters to mark directly on the content being displayed.

Philips ScreenShare facilitates the sharing and saving of all content presented during sessions, allowing for easy retrieval and review by participants, and providing those absent an opportunity to catch up on missed information.

Frank Trossen concluded: "Philips ScreenShare, paired with our evolving range of Philips Collaboration displays, and requiring no costly additional hardware or networks, creates what we believe to be one of the most secure, cost-efficient and feature-rich propositions in the current market. We are incredibly excited about the opportunities Philips ScreenShare will provide current and future generations."
