Pioneering online Kiwi college establishes $1m global scholarship
Crimson Global Academy (CGA), a pioneering online high school established in New Zealand, is launching a NZD$1 million global scholarship programme. These scholarships, available for the February 2024 school year, are designed not only to aid and encourage the educational advancement of diverse students, but also to reward their extraordinary academic and extra-curricular attributes.
The programme includes a wide selection of individual scholarships available worldwide. In New Zealand and Australia alone, CGA plans to award 12 scholarships and a variety of financial aids amounting to NZD$500,000 for new and potential students.
The scholarship categories for Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) students encompass the CGA Founders Stand Out Scholarship, valued at $30,000 each and awarded to two exceptional students who embody innovation and leadership. Four ANZ students will be granted the CGA Leadership Scholarship, worth $5,000 each, recognising those who demonstrate remarkable leadership skills and a commitment to making a positive impact on their peers. The CGA Academic Scholarship, rewarding and inspiring students to elevate their academic performance, will be awarded to two worthy ANZ students, each worth $15,000. Moreover, the CGA Performer Scholarship, recognising those who excel in extra-curricular activities, will be awarded to four ANZ students, amounting to $5,000 each.
Crimson Global Academy's CEO, Pene Barton, shared his excitement for the scholarship programme: "We are thrilled to introduce the innovative CGA Scholarship Programme, which is home to a diverse array of scholarships designed to recognise and nurture students who can use their gifts and ambition to make a significant impact within the academic community and beyond."
He continued: "The programme reflects CGA's commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals. By recognising excellence in academics, leadership, co-curricular engagement, and more, we aim to build a diverse community of students who will excel academically in their field of choice and contribute meaningfully to the world."
Furthermore, Barton emphasised the mission to cultivate an international student community through this investment: "Our students join an international community and experience an enriching, global education thanks to the peers they learn alongside. This scholarship programme is an investment in bringing an exceptional cohort of students from around the world to join our school in 2024, who may have otherwise not had the financial means to do so."
Applications are open to both current and potential students. All applications will be reviewed by a central selection committee, which may invite some applicants for interviews. Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to join CGA's dynamic online learning environment, where they can collaborate with peers from around the globe and receive a world-class education that prepares them for entry into leading tertiary institutions.
