Polycom snaps up Accordent Technologies

Polycom has acquired video content management and delivery firm Accordent Technologies in a deal said to be worth $50 million.

The acquisition was made by Polycom in a move to improve its position in the video content management and delivery market.

The deal will integrate Polycom’s open standards UC Intelligent Core and endpoints with Accordent’s video content management solution.

"Polycom is committed to delivering an innovative, flexibleand world-class video communications solution to customers over the entire content lifecycle – from real-time to capture, to management, to delivery,” said Sudhakar Ramakrishna, Polycom Chief Development Officer.

Accordent has over 1200 customers in the enterprise and public sector.
