PPDS launches Philips Unite LED 5000 Series for global use

Tue, 18th Jun 2024

PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips Professional Displays, has announced the worldwide launch of the Philips Unite LED 5000 Series. This new flip-chip COB LED is designed to enhance visual performance and energy efficiency in corporate and educational settings.

The Philips Unite LED 5000 Series is the second dvLED product introduced by PPDS this year, following the Philips Public LED 5000 Series targeted at larger public indoor spaces, which was launched in April. The latest product aims to address the current and future needs of users through advanced LED technology that supports up to 8K resolution, including HDR10+ capabilities over shorter viewing distances.

The panels, available globally from July 2024, come in 27.1" (600 x 337.5mm) sizes for traditional 16x9 LED wall installations. They are offered in various pixel pitch variants and configurations, such as common cathode (P0.78, P0.93, P1.25) and common anode (P1.56, P1.875), all of which have a refresh rate of 3840 Hz.

The flip-chip COB technology utilised in the Philips Unite 5000 LED Series allows for higher pixel density, which results in darker blacks, vivid colours, and deep contrasts. This makes it a preferred choice for mission-critical environments like command centres, exhibition halls, and TV studios, where reliability and clarity are crucial. Using Micro LED technology, the series can achieve high resolutions, including 4K and 8K.

Combining flip chip COB with common cathode technologies, the P0.78, P0.93, and P1.25 models in the series offer superior stability and reliability. These products also feature reduced heat dissipation and power consumption, contributing to energy savings and lower operational costs. For added durability, the panels come with an IP67 rating, protecting against dust and moisture to extend product lifetimes and reduce maintenance expenses.

All Philips Unite LED 5000 Series panels come with a standard three-year out-of-the-box warranty, extendable to five years, which is above the industry’s typical two-year warranties. This provides customers with greater peace of mind.

The new series also aligns with PPDS's sustainability strategy. The packaging is designed to be eco-friendly, utilising minimised brown cardboard boxes and a quick start guide printed with water-based ink. Plastic bags and EPE cotton foam are reduced, with safety and protection maintained through innovative cardboard made from 100% recycled paper.

Jeroen Brants, Global Product Director for Philips dvLED displays at PPDS, highlighted the company’s commitment to offering diverse solutions: “At PPDS, we are committed to bringing a wide choice of solutions to our customers. Whether they are a multi-national organisation, a small start-up looking to make a big impression or an independent school, college, or university, we want to support them in achieving their ambitions."

"With the Philips Unite LED 5000 Series, we are widening our reach to ensure more customers can benefit from LED displays, working to a price point that suits them without being forced to compromise on performance quality.”
