Privileged access management vital as ransomware risks escalate
Desmond Goh has been named the new partner alliance manager, South East Asia, for ThycoticCentrify, as the company puts the spotlight on privileged access management to battle increasing cyber risks.
ThycoticCentrify is a provider of cloud identity security solutions formed by the merger of privileged access management (PAM) leaders Thycotic and Centrify.
In his new role, Goh focus will be on growing a partner ecosystem to support ThycoticCentrify as the number one choice for organisations in the region looking to implement privileged access management solutions.
ThycoticCentrify's privileged access management solutions reduce risk, complexity and cost while securing organisations' data, devices and code across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments.
The company has a 100% channel sales model and works closely with distributors and partners throughout Asia to service a rapidly growing corporate and government customer base.
Goh, based in Singapore, joins ThycoticCentrify's expanding channel team and is focused on maintaining and deepening relationships with a key set of cyber security focused resellers and regional system integrators in South East Asia, supporting them to provide their customers with effective PAM solutions.
"With escalating risks including ransomware and other cyber threats, privileged access management has become a necessity for every organisation," says Goh.
"PAM has become a key battleground in cyber security and the combined ThycoticCentrify is perfectly positioned to support our distribution channel partners and their customers," he says.
Goh says most organisations are yet to effectively implement privileged access management, which according to Gartner is the number one project they should focus on to reduce cyber risk.
"We want more SIs and managed service providers to be able to offer privileged access management solutions to the enterprise and government customers they have agreements with, and we want to support them to offer more effective and fully featured solutions," he explains.
Goh will be reporting to to Kris Hansen, strategic alliance director for ThycoticCentrify.
"With extensive experience working with enterprise channel leaders, Desmond Goh is the right person to grow our Asia Pacific partner base and enable them to provide comprehensive privileged access management solutions to their customers," says Hansen.
Goh has more than 18 years experience representing both retail and enterprise solutions in a range of product management and channel management roles for technology resellers and distributors. He joins ThycoticCentrify after working as channel manager for Veeam Software in Singapore, and prior to that, channel sales manager for Acronis Asia.
ThycoticCentrify is used by more than 14,000 organisations around the globe including over half of the Fortune 100, and customers include the world's largest financial institutions, intelligence agencies and critical infrastructure companies.
