Public awaits XT failure report

Telecom is poised to release the recommendations from anindependent report into the XT outages.

The report was commissioned by Telecom CEO Paul Reynoldsfollowing the second outage in February. International consultants AnalysysMason were contracted to carry out the review. In recognition of the strongpublic interest in XT, Telecom has said the report’s recommendations will bemade public (see XT Outages: what we know).

It’s understood the report is now complete, but Telecom spokesmanMark Watts will only say that the recommendations will be released soon. Whenasked if it would be this week he replied “more likely than not”.

Tomorrow Telecom will announce its third quarter results atits regular briefing for financial analysts and media.
