Radware expands DDoS protection with CPaaS provider

Today

Radware has announced the expansion of its business with a major Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider by including hybrid cloud DDoS protection services.

The CPaaS provider, which operates a cloud platform across more than 60 countries, has entered into a multimillion-dollar agreement with Radware. This deal encompasses Radware's Hybrid Cloud DDoS Protection Services, Cloud Firewall as a Service, and Network Analytics, building on the existing on-premise DDoS defences that Radware supplies to protect the customer's data centres.

The provider's infrastructure supports more than 10 data centres and 500 protected networks globally. Radware replaced the provider's previous vendor when the company was seeking a solution with more detailed DDoS detection and mitigation abilities, aiming to decrease the mean time to response without affecting legitimate customer traffic. The provider also intended to cut down on manual countermeasures and latency, enhancing flexibility in operations between on-prem and cloud environments.

"The success of this competitive take out was driven by Radware's strong technical performance, starting with an on-premise solution and following with cloud DDoS protection for the provider's corporate and customer network infrastructures," said Yoav Gazelle, Radware's Chief Business Officer. "Our ability to counter specific threats against UDP, SIP, and VoIP traffic - a critical capability for communication providers - gave us a clear advantage and influenced the buying decision."

Radware's hybrid cloud DDoS protection uses dedicated, behavioural-based algorithms to ensure there are no protection gaps. It aims to safeguard communication providers against evolving threat vectors while ensuring minimal impact on traffic latency. The solution is tailored for high-speed environments.

To boost the CPaaS provider's security, Radware's multifaceted solution is designed to automatically detect and precisely block harmful traffic without impeding legitimate requests during an attack. Radware provides access to a global network of cloud security service centres, offering 15Tbps of mitigation capacity to neutralise DDoS attacks as close as possible to their origin. It also helps offload malicious traffic before it reaches the organisation's network, enhancing network efficiency. Additionally, it aims to eliminate errors during network deployment planning and aids in staying ahead of DDoS threats through early detection of network abuse during non-crisis periods.

Radware has been acknowledged in the industry for its DDoS mitigation, application and API protection, web application firewall, and bot detection and management solutions. Industry analysts including Aite-Novarica Group, Forrester Research, Gartner, GigaOm, IDC, KuppingerCole, and Quadrant Knowledge Solutions continue to recognise Radware as a leader in cyber security.
