Enterprise content management company OpenText has launched a new software solution that helps customers capture, digitise and index paper documents, in a bid to help companies reduce their dependence on paper-based processes.
The software joins OpenText’s information governance, storage management and business process management solutions in integrating with Microsoft’s SharePoint content management platform.
A variety of capture scenarios are supported, from high-volume batch capture to ad-hoc or desktop scanning. Captured documents are converted to searchable digital documents using character recognition software.
The software can also be used to import other types of documents such as faxes and emails with attached documents, providing a single, enterprise-wide capture platform.
OpenText’s New Zealand partners include Canon, Fronde, Soft Solutions and Techtonics Group.
