RETN launches DDoS mitigation platform, boosting scrubbing capacity 5,000%
Thu, 4th Apr 2024

RETN, an independent international network services provider, has recently announced the development and launch of its novel DDoS Mitigation Platform. The state-of-the-art platform merges innovative cybersecurity measures and network-level protection, simultaneously escalating customers' scrubbing capacity by 5,000%.

The newly launched platform offers direct traffic control, enhanced visibility, and an exceptional scale and reach to safeguard against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. It works efficiently across RETN's extensive 135,000-kilometre network, stretching from Europe to Asia. It provides the capability to implement effective and immediate mitigation measures at the network level. This unique approach empowers RETN to aid businesses in halting attacks closer to their origin, ensuring business continuity and peace of mind, even under the threatening conditions of an attack.

RETN's new DDoS Mitigation Platform represents a significant advancement in securing the internet's backbone, thereby fortifying the digital safety of businesses globally. According to Tony O'Sullivan, CEO of RETN, "DDoS mitigation is now essential and should be expected by all businesses and mission-critical networks that require real-time protection. We are excited to provide a solution that excels in detecting attacks, alerting users, and responding swiftly to mitigate them."

The platform exercises automated, intelligent mitigation using Artificial Intelligence and machine learning to detect and mitigate threats automatically. This ensures that hostile attempts are intercepted and blocked before infiltrating the network or online applications. With a massive increase in scrubbing capacity across multiple strategically positioned centres within the RETN Global Network and a constant Security Operation Centre (24x7 SOC), this platform offers the highest level of security.

Additionally, the RETN DDoS Platform also provides a Customer Security Portal for in-house visibility and control with real-time alerts and reports. The platform is adaptable with customisable profiles for every network/host resource.

IP Transit and Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) customers will gain two-fold benefits from Volumetric Attack Protection and Protocol Attack Protection. The former reroutes excess traffic from the target network and filters out harmful packets, ensuring the seamless flow of legitimate traffic. The latter identifies and mitigates suspicious traffic indicative of protocol attacks like SYN floods or TCP floods, safeguarding network resources from being flooded with malicious traffic.

Application Protection features an enterprise-grade, cloud-based Web Application Firewall (WAF) that protects web applications, APIs, and online services from a multitude of threats. DNS Protection is supported by a fully redundant and internationally distributed DNS infrastructure capable of absorbing large-scale DNS-based DDoS attacks. It effortlessly responds to legitimate user requests and protects against reflected, amplification, and advanced DNS-based attacks, thereby ensuring the integrity and availability of online services.
