Revolut has partnered with OpenAI to offer ChatGPT Go to its retail customers at no extra cost for up to 12 months, depending on their plan.

The agreement gives Revolut access to one of the most widely used consumer artificial intelligence products as the fintech adds non-banking services to its paid plans.

Under the arrangement, Ultra and Metal customers will receive 12 months of ChatGPT Go, while Premium users will receive six months. Standard users will be offered three months on a limited promotional basis, and Ultra customers will also receive a 12-month Buddy pass.

ChatGPT Go includes higher usage limits, more file uploads, document analysis, image generation and memory functions. The offer will be available to millions of Revolut retail customers worldwide.

The move expands Revolut's strategy of bundling subscription services into its higher-priced accounts. Its Ultra plan includes health, fitness, learning, creativity and entertainment products with a combined annual value of more than NZD $5,300.

That places artificial intelligence alongside travel and lifestyle services in Revolut's effort to make its subscription plans stand out in an increasingly crowded fintech market. It also reflects a broader shift among consumer platforms to package AI tools into existing memberships rather than sell them only as standalone software subscriptions.

OpenAI said nearly one billion people use ChatGPT each week. Revolut is targeting customers who want access beyond free-tier limits for tasks such as planning trips, organising personal administration, researching purchases or supporting business work.

Plan benefits

The offer covers OpenAI's GPT-5.6 model and includes image generation within the ChatGPT Go product. The benefit is built into Revolut's plans rather than charged separately.

For Revolut, the partnership adds a high-profile technology brand to a membership model central to its expansion beyond payments and foreign exchange. The company has grown from its UK launch into a global financial app used by more than 75 million customers, who make more than one billion transactions each month.

The addition of AI services shows how fintech groups are trying to deepen engagement by moving further into customers' daily routines. Subscription bundles have become a common way for digital financial companies to increase revenue per user, but they also require a steady stream of benefits that customers see as relevant enough to justify monthly fees.

Tara Massoudi, Partner and General Manager for Premium products at Revolut, outlined how the company sees the role of the new offer within that strategy.

"We want to empower our customers with tools that are part of their entire day, beyond finance. We've been building an extensive portfolio that supports how they travel, work, connect, and take care of their health. Today, AI is not a nice to have, it's an essential for everyday life. By partnering with OpenAI to offer ChatGPT plans to our customers, we are removing the burden of fragmented monthly bills and giving our users uninterrupted access to the world's best productivity tools," Massoudi said.

Broader push

The deal also gives OpenAI another route into mainstream consumer distribution through an established financial platform. Rather than relying solely on direct subscriptions, it is extending its reach through partners whose users may not otherwise pay separately for AI access.

That model mirrors a wider trend in digital services, where streaming, telecoms and financial platforms bundle outside products to raise retention and reduce churn. In this case, AI joins the same bundle economics, with the convenience of one membership replacing multiple separate bills.

Emmanuel Marill described the appeal of the partnership from OpenAI's side.

"We're excited to partner with Revolut to bring ChatGPT Go to its millions of customers worldwide, so they can use AI to make everyday life easier - from tackling life admin and planning trips to learning and creating. With this partnership even more people will be able to get even more from AI," Marill said.

Promotional offers for the three-month ChatGPT Go access will be sent to eligible Plus and Standard users in the coming weeks.
