Salesforce and Anthropic have announced Claudeforce, expanding their existing partnership.

The launch includes Salesforce in Claude, a plugin with 37 prebuilt sales skills that lets sellers and agents work with Salesforce data and actions from within Anthropic's Claude assistant.

The tool supports tasks such as meeting preparation, deal health reviews, and pipeline reviews. It can reason over live revenue information, automate pipeline updates, and take actions through Salesforce while keeping company rules in place.

The companies are also expanding the use of each other's technology across Salesforce, Claude, and Slack. This includes Claude inside Salesforce products and a broader role for Anthropic's model family within Slack.

Under the arrangement, Claude will be available in Agentforce as a reasoning model for the Atlas Reasoning Engine and as the default model in Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker. Claude is also available in Agent Builder.

For customers using Amazon Bedrock, Claude can operate within the Salesforce Trust Boundary. This is intended to help customers, including those in regulated sectors, deploy domain-specific artificial intelligence while keeping data and workloads secure.

Slack role

Slack is another central part of the expanded tie-up. Claude will be the default model for Slack and will power several parts of the workplace software, including Slackbot, Claude Tag, and Slack Code.

The aim is to let teams work through decisions in Slack and then carry out governed actions in Salesforce without switching between separate tools. Slack, which Salesforce owns, has become one of the main places where it is embedding generative AI features.

The partnership also reflects mutual internal use. Salesforce is using Anthropic technology across several products and internal systems, while Anthropic uses Salesforce as its preferred customer relationship management platform and Slack as its internal work platform.

Claude is the model behind Slackbot for both Salesforce customers and employees. Internally, Slackbot has generated 8.1 million annualised hours of productivity gains, more than doubling quarter on quarter.

Salesforce also said it will provide Claude Code and Claude Enterprise to its developers and knowledge workers as its preferred artificial intelligence assistant and productivity tools. It added that Claude is the first large language model provider fully integrated within the Salesforce Trust Boundary.

Executive comments

The announcement sets out how both companies view the relationship between reasoning models and business software.

"We're bringing together the world's #1 AI and #1 CRM - the best of both worlds. Today, we're launching Claudeforce, running directly on top of Salesforce via our new AIforce UI harness, Headless 360, Data 360, Tableau, and Slack. Here, the UI is the AI - allowing you to build custom apps dynamically and answer any enterprise question. Probabilistic intelligence alone doesn't run a company, and deterministic systems don't reason. By fusing Claude's extraordinary reasoning with the trusted data, workflows, and governance every enterprise runs on, we're delivering a dynamic interface that thinks, reasons, and acts. This is how every business will run," said Marc Benioff, Chair & CEO, Salesforce.

Anthropic framed the move as a way to place its models more directly inside systems that hold long-established customer and operational records.

"We believe frontier intelligence should be safe, trusted, and deeply capable, which is why the world's leading businesses turn to Claude for their most important work. Salesforce in Claude brings this same frontier intelligence into the systems where much of the world's commercial activity happens. Through this partnership, companies can point Claude at the customer information and business context that they've been building in Salesforce for decades, and use it to actually run and grow their businesses," said Dario Amodei, CEO & Co-Founder, Anthropic.

Rollout plans

Salesforce in Claude is available to a select group of pilot customers. Salesforce expects to release the product in open beta in September 2026, with additional prebuilt skills due to begin launching in the third quarter of 2026.

The announcement highlights how software companies are trying to bind generative AI tools more tightly to the systems where businesses store customer data, define internal rules, and carry out day-to-day work, rather than treating chat interfaces as standalone applications.

At the centre of the deal is an effort to make Claude a working layer across Salesforce applications and Slack, while making Salesforce records and workflows accessible from within Claude through a single administrative setup with central authentication and permissions.
