Samsung unveils new Odyssey OLED gaming monitor range

Samsung Electronics has announced the launch of its new Odyssey OLED monitor range, featuring four new models: the Odyssey OLED G93SD, G91SD, G85SD, and G61SD.

The company has maintained its position as the leading brand in the global gaming monitor market since 2021, according to data from the International Data Corporation (IDC). Samsung captured a 20.6% global market share in the gaming monitor category earlier this year and leads the New Zealand market with a 43% share in the first half of 2024.

Our latest Odyssey OLED monitors will build on this and provide a larger-than-life viewing experience with resolution which enables Kiwi gamers to have an immersive and real-life gaming experience."

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 series, which includes models G93SD and G91SD, features a dual QHD resolution of 5,120 x 1,440, a 32:9 ultra-wide screen ratio, a 1,800R curved design, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03ms grey-to-grey response time.

The 34-inch Odyssey OLED G85SD offers an ultra-wide QHD resolution of 3,440 x 1,440, a 21:9 screen ratio, a 1,800R curved design, Smart Hub integration, a 175Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03ms grey-to-grey response time. Additionally, Samsung's introduction of the 27-inch OLED G6 series monitor through the G61SD model diversifies the OLED portfolio further.

Samsung's new Odyssey OLED models are equipped with the proprietary OLED Safeguard technology to prevent burn-ins, along with OLED Glare Free technology to minimise light reflection, ensuring an enhanced viewing experience. These models also offer AMD FreeSync support to ensure smooth and fast-action gameplay by reducing stuttering and input latency.
