Sapia.ai launches API to boost global workplace AI solutions

Fri, 31st May 2024

Sapia.ai, known for its Smart Interviewer platform powered by deep-learning AI, has announced an initiative to open its proprietary machine learning models to the public through a strategic API program. This significant move aims to assist companies globally in developing their workplace-based AI applications.

The initial rollout will take place on the AWS Marketplace, providing businesses with access to Sapia.ai's extensive dataset, which comprises over 20 million question and answer pairs collected from 4 million candidates worldwide over a span of five years. By making their models accessible, Sapia.ai seeks to offer a robust foundation for organisations to advance their own AI solutions.

The launch of this API program stands as one of the most considerable enterprise access launches by an Australian AI platform. Barb Hyman, CEO of Sapia.ai, emphasised the importance of this initiative for Australian companies and other organisations globally. "This move will give Australian organisations and many around the world the head start they need in getting ahead of the AI revolution in developing their own AI solutions," Hyman stated.

Hyman elaborated on the capabilities of their AI technology, noting that it could identify candidate traits and aptitudes, as well as coach talent on necessary skill improvements. She drew parallels between their open-access APIs and the transformative impact of open APIs for platforms like ChatGPT. According to Hyman, the new offerings will enable companies to either use Sapia.ai's existing AI services to create their tools or partner directly to enhance their hiring processes and diversity outcomes.

Sapia.ai, a frontrunner in ethical AI solutions, is trusted by prominent global brands to optimise their recruitment and promotion processes. The company's platform employs conversational Natural Language Processing (NLP) to conduct AI-driven interviews, assess, and screen candidates at scale, providing valuable insights for both job seekers and hiring teams. It supports over ten languages, ensuring a user-friendly experience for non-native English speakers during the hiring process.

Around 15% of the ASX100, including high-profile companies such as Qantas and Woolworths, utilise Sapia.ai's technology for their recruitment needs. The majority of these ASX100 customers have adopted Sapia.ai's technology within the past year, marking a growing acceptance of AI-driven solutions among Australia's corporate elite.

Sapia.ai's platform also aims to enhance diversity and reduce unconscious bias in candidate screening. The company recently released data indicating that their chat-based interviews not only expedite the hiring process but are also favoured by female candidates. Hyman highlighted this aspect as central to their mission of promoting fairness and diversity in recruitment.

Founded by a former Chief Human Resources Officer, Sapia.ai continues to push the boundaries of AI in human resources. By focusing on fundamental human potential rather than traditional resumes, the company seeks to revolutionise the talent acquisition landscape. Their Smart Interviewer tool is designed to empower hiring managers and talent acquisition professionals, offering a trustworthy and efficient recruitment experience.

As organisations strive to keep pace with the rapidly evolving AI landscape, Sapia.ai's strategic API program could serve as a pivotal resource, enabling companies to innovate and tailor AI solutions that drive both efficiency and inclusivity in their hiring processes.
