Schneider Electric tops sustainability index for 2025

Today

Schneider Electric has been recognised as the World's Most Sustainable Corporation for 2025 by Corporate Knights, making it the first company to achieve this distinction twice.

This accolade further underlines Schneider Electric's long-standing dedication to sustainability, as the company continues to rank among the top performers in the Corporate Knights Global 100 index.

The company first topped this ranking in 2021 and has consistently been included in the index for the past 14 years, seven of which were in the top 10.

Olivier Blum, Schneider Electric's Chief Executive Officer, emphasised the importance of sustainability within the corporation, stating, "For many years now, sustainability has been at the heart of what Schneider Electric does.

For an IMPACT company it's more than just a corporate goal, it's the driving force that shapes our business decisions and inspires our employees. This second title as the World's Most Sustainable Corporation from Corporate Knights, alongside other key ESG recognitions, is testimony to the valuable, long-term positive impact we have."

Schneider Electric's 2025 ranking was attributed to several factors, including leadership in sustainable development practices, gender diversity in its leadership structures, and its initiatives in energy efficiency, electrification, and decarbonisation.

Schneider Electric also demonstrated commendable performance in separating its business growth from its energy consumption and carbon emissions, as well as significant investment in sustainable research and development. Corporate Knights also highlighted the correlation between the company's executive incentives and its sustainability performances and ESG ratings.

Corporate Knights' Chief Executive Officer, Toby Heaps, highlighted the uniqueness of Schneider Electric's achievements, noting, "Schneider Electric's position at the top of the Global 100 index is remarkable. No other company has accomplished this twice. This success stems from Schneider's broad impact that goes beyond its own sustainability efforts. Schneider provides the technology to enhance energy efficiency, support decarbonization and help other companies in their sustainable transitions."

The Global 100 index, prepared by Canadian firm Corporate Knights, is an evaluation of publicly disclosed data on resources, employees, suppliers, sustainable revenues, and investments. The index ranks companies using fixed and variable key performance indicators, offering a comprehensive assessment of their sustainability efforts within their respective industries. Schneider Electric has consistently been noted for its contributions to the electrical equipment manufacturing sector.

Schneider Electric's repeated recognition as the leading sustainable corporation coincides with the ongoing and concluding phases of its Schneider Sustainability Impact program, which spans from 2021 to 2025.

This program focuses on achieving substantial progress in various ESG targets and supports the company's objectives both globally and locally.
