Progress has announced the release of new capabilities within its Sitefinity platform, introducing native support for the React framework Next.js.

The recent update to Sitefinity facilitates the use of Next.js, providing developers with the tools to create state-of-the-art digital experiences. Loren Jarrett, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Digital Experience, Progress, stated, "Developers want to use their technology of choice when building digital experiences, and Sitefinity is now the right solution for React developers in addition to .NET developers. The addition of Next.js support in Sitefinity underscores our commitment to embracing the latest frontend technologies and puts more power and choice in the hands of our customers to create world-class digital experiences."

John Yang, Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan, shared his viewpoint: "Sitefinity's expansion to support Next.js empowers developers to build dynamic and engaging digital experiences using their preferred technology stack. By offering flexibility and choice, Sitefinity enables developers to leverage the power of both .NET and Next.js to create innovative and high-performance web applications. This strategic move aligns with the evolving landscape of web development, where developers increasingly seek versatile and efficient tools to meet the demands of modern digital experiences."

Sitefinity's support for both Next.js and ASP.NET Core allows Microsoft and JavaScript developers to choose technology based on their project needs and expertise. The platform features parity in widget selection and design, templating, and visual page composition through its technology-agnostic editor. Additionally, its hybrid headless architecture offers a seamless content management experience.

Racing and Wagering Western Australia has implemented Sitefinity with Next.js to unify 12 websites into a singular digital platform. Richard Quance, Head of Content at Racing and Wagering Western Australia, noted, "Our goal was to connect our extensive racing content and data in a more meaningful way. The Next.js capabilities within Sitefinity proved to be a critical enabler for us to create a cohesive, rich customer experience that better serves our online audience."

Key features of Sitefinity 15.2 include Gen AI-powered low-code workflows that integrate with content editor UIs, customisable business user interfaces using micro-apps, and compatibility with Azure OpenAI services for content optimisation.

As a cloud-based, AI-driven CMS, Sitefinity supports multichannel content delivery and future growth while addressing specific business demands through its enterprise-grade capabilities. Its hybrid architecture supports multi-technology frontend hosting alongside backend customisations.

Sitefinity is a significant component of the Progress Digital Experience portfolio, aiming to enhance efficiency and accelerate value realisation in digital projects for mid-market and enterprise-level clients.
