Skinny Mobile switches on 4G and finally releases app
Mon, 1st Dec 2014
FYI, this story is more than a year old

New Zealand telco Skinny Mobile has switched on 4G for its customers.

“We know it’s important for Kiwis to be connected wherever they are, and it’s important that our customers have access to the latest technologies like 4G,” says Ross Parker, general manager of Skinny Mobile.

“Because we use the awesome Spark network, we already offer great 3G speeds in 97 per cent of places that Kiwis live and work. And now that Skinny customers can use extra-fast 4G, more Kiwis will spend less time waiting and more time doing the things they love, like browsing and streaming.”

4G connections are now available in 30 locations across New Zealand including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Rotorua and Queenstown. To enable 4G, Skinny customers need to be in a 4G coverage area with a Skinny compatible 4G device.

Skinny has also just launched a new mobile app allowing customers to easily manage their Skinny account from their phone.

“The new Skinny app has heaps of cool functionality,” says Parker. “Customers can Top-Up, manage their Combos, check their recent usage and even transfer credit to their mates. It’s all about giving our customers quicker and easier ways to manage their mobile.”

The Skinny app for iPhones is available here and for Android phones here.
