SmartBear unveils AI-driven API and Insight Hubs for teams

Yesterday

SmartBear has announced the release of two new AI-driven hubs, SmartBear API Hub and SmartBear Insight Hub, aimed at enhancing software quality and accelerating high-quality delivery for development teams.

The CEO of SmartBear, Dan Faulkner, emphasised the challenges faced by development teams due to fragmented tools and vendor sprawl, stating, "Development teams are overwhelmed by fragmented tools and vendor sprawl, slowing their ability to innovate and deliver software that meets today's high standards. With API Hub and Insight Hub, we're redefining what's possible for software quality - removing complexity, amplifying insights, and enabling teams to scale confidently without compromise."

API Hub is designed to facilitate the API development process, leveraging its integration with Swagger tools to streamline the API lifecycle. It includes a variety of tools such as API Hub for Design, API Hub for Portal, API Hub for Contract Testing, and API Hub for Explore, previously known as different SwaggerHub components and PactFlow. The API Hub has received recognition for its role in managing and supporting APIs, being awarded the 2025 DEVIES Award for API Management & Support.

The Insight Hub focuses on providing development teams with enhanced observability features. By offering real-time insights into user behaviour and application performance, it empowers teams to detect early issues and optimise their systems to maintain high standards. The Insight Hub incorporates error and performance monitoring as well as distributed tracing capabilities from BugSnag.

Melinda Ballou, Research Director for Agile ALM, Quality, and Portfolio Strategies at IDC, commented on the current challenges faced by development teams: "From fragmented tools to the constant need for scalability, development teams face immense challenges today. Solutions like SmartBear Insight Hub and API Hub, featuring HaloAI, can address these challenges in an increasingly complex software landscape. By uniting API management and developer observability, SmartBear is helping teams build intelligent, reliable applications that can scale using a modular approach."

SmartBear is also preparing to launch the SmartBear Test Hub, which will feature advanced test automation and management capabilities. This hub aims to enhance testing procedures by offering tools for comprehensive UI functional, visual, and performance testing. SmartBear has accelerated the development of Test Hub through its recent acquisition of QMetry.

SmartBear's modular hubs aim to support development teams at different stages of growth, offering them the flexibility to adopt only what they need. The company emphasises the usability of its products and the tailored integration capabilities that cater to specific workflows.

The company has been recognised as a leader in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for API Management and continues to be a trusted partner for global organisations such as Adobe, JetBlue, FedEx, and Microsoft. SmartBear's approach to product development includes using customer feedback to ensure seamless integration across various management, insight, and testing functionalities.
