SmartBear has announced the launch of two innovations aimed at transforming API and functional testing within software development. These innovations incorporate SmartBear's HaloAI, an AI-driven technology, enhancing efficiency and reducing the need for manual intervention in traditional testing methods.

PactFlow and TestComplete, tools within the SmartBear suite, have been augmented with HaloAI, bringing key advancements. PactFlow's AI-Augmented Contract Testing uses HaloAI to automate the creation and maintenance of API contract tests. This integration with developer tools aims to accelerate development cycles, reduce costs, and maintain up-to-date tests amidst ongoing code changes. TestComplete's AI Test Data Generation facilitates the production of extensive, customised data sets. This feature is particularly beneficial for regulated industries, streamlining workflows and improving code and test data quality through simple commands.

The beta phase for PactFlow's AI-augmented contract testing will commence in July, with TestComplete's AI test data generation beta starting on 1st July 2024 and concluding in mid-August.
