Smartpay to update taxis with EFTPOS
Thu, 21st Jan 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Auckland’s Co-Op Taxis will upgrade more than 800 vehicles with SmartPay’s Cadmus brand EFTPOS terminals following the recent successful installation with Wellington Combined Taxis.

The terminals were developed in conjunction with billing and reporting solutions provider TaxiCharge NZ and will transform the fleet into a fully online EFTPOS system.

SmartPay Managing Director Ian Bailey said that SmartPay was the only company to develop EFTPOS terminals specifically for the taxi industry, with its terminals used by every major taxi fleet in NZ and a number of taxi companies in Australia.

“We have been working with TaxiCharge NZ since 1996 to develop solutions, and have built up considerable expertise and understanding of the needs of taxi operators during the past 14 years,” he said.

He added: “Our terminals are in more than 6,000 taxis across Australasia and we expect future demand for this service to continue to be strong.”
