Smartsheet empowers businesses with AI & new resource tools

Wed, 15th May 2024

Enterprises continually struggle to successfully analyse a deluge of work management data. Thanks to the leading enterprise work management platform Smartsheet, integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) and resource management features now offer businesses a comprehensive overview of their data to streamline decision-making and enhance productivity.

These features, made publicly available, were launched at Smartsheet's London conference. The conference showcased how AI-focused features provide actionable analysis, insights, and improved visibility, enhancing how businesses interface with their data.

Organisations can now visualise, comprehend, and analyse their work management data with reduced complexity, allowing them to identify significant insights, track work progress, and identify bottlenecks. Ben Canning, Smartsheet's SVP of Product Experiences, commented that Smartsheet "brings these key components together on one AI-powered platform...we're giving customers a bird's eye view of their business and empowering them to uncover meaningful insights from their work management data."

The new AI features are built on the principles of practicality, transparency, and customer needs. Tools such as the AI tool that instantly generates metrics or visual charts based on conversational prompts and the AI formula builder, which creates elaborate formulas based on simple language descriptions, set Smartsheet aside from other collaborative work management platforms. For customers on the Enterprise plan, these Smartsheet AI tools, integrated within its flexible data platform, enable them to extract meaningful insights from their work data.

Smartsheet is committed to responsible AI usage, ensuring that no client data is inappropriately accessed or used by third-party AI model providers. They ensure that AI recommendations and insights are easily understood, providing a clear account of how the tool arrives at an answer.

Emmanuel Santiago-Ros, President and Co-Founder of SoltechPR and Smartsheet partner, praised the new AI tools' transformative effect on productivity. He said, "Previously, we could spend countless hours each month debugging these formulas. However, the advent of the new AI tools has revolutionised this process."

Apart from the AI tools, Smartsheet now offers workload tracking features, the Workload Heatmap and Workload Schedule. These features, available to Business and Enterprise plan customers, provide a better understanding of task allocation, optimised capacity utilisation, and informed staffing decisions.

Jeff Kratz, Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector Industry Sales at AWS, attested to the transformative power of Smartsheet's new features. He credited Smartsheet with enabling "our team to consistently scale our processes and provide more transparency to our leaders at AWS...Smartsheet helps drive consistency, productivity, and collaboration, and it allows for the creation of reusable content."

As organisations increasingly rely on data to drive strategic decisions, the newly released features stand to revolutionise work management processes as we know them, making enterprises more agile and effective in their decision-making processes.
