FYI, this story is more than a year old

Software AG has announced it will deploy its entire cloud portfolio on the Amazon Web Services cloud over the course of 2015 in an effort to simplify enterprise cloud adoption.

Software AG says their ‘Transformation to the Cloud' initiative will implement and identify their optimal cloud adoption strategies.

Already running on AWS are Software AG's Alfabet Cloud and ARIS Cloud product suites.

These cover all aspects of IT planning and portfolio management as well as the whole area of business process analysis.

The vendor says the product suites allow enterprises to identify IT assets that can make optimal use of the cloud from ease of access, cost, regulatory and security perspectives, and how to transform business processes to the cloud.

Software AG will also deploy webMethods Integration Cloud on AWS this year.

This system offers application integration capabilities for cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground use cases as a public cloud service.

The vendor's portfolio of cloud services aim to enable customers to design an optimal hybrid IT architecture and deploy suitable processes, domains, systems and applications on the AWS cloud.

Software AG says it has chosen AWS as its strategic, global IaaS provider as it is the clear market leader both in size and brand awareness among large scale enterprises.

Furthermore, AWS offers operational efficiencies, the widest geographical coverage, significant savings regarding external IaaS services and lower costs of certification, Software AG says.

Terry Wise, AWS Vice President, says, “Today, more than ever before, leading ISVs are looking for IT solutions that allow them to move quickly, reduce costs, and better serve their customers.

“Software AG is a leading example of an innovative software vendor going all in on AWS to leverage our secure, robust infrastructure platform, and expanding global footprint to build highly differentiated, value-added solutions for their customers.

Wolfram Jost, Software AG CTO, says, “Software AG is committed to increasing customer choice and ease of use wherever possible and transformation to the cloud is a significant step in this direction, delivering increased enterprise flexibility and adaptability.

“Not only does this help enterprises and government departments to design and implement individual cloud strategies and architectures, it does so from the cloud, delivering cost efficiencies from the start.
