Software Combined secures second New Zealand tech company
Software Combined, a leading software aggregator headquartered in Australia, has expanded its reach by acquiring Dbvisit, an Auckland-based specialist in database disaster recovery software.
This move marks Software Combined's second purchase of a New Zealand technology company in 2024, following the acquisition of Activate in April.
Established 16 years ago, Dbvisit has a well-regarded reputation for innovation and growth. The company is known for providing standby or warm disaster recovery solutions for enterprise-level databases, including Oracle SE, SQL Server, and PostgresSQL databases.
With over 1,700 customers spanning 120 countries, Dbvisit has developed a strong presence in significant markets, particularly Europe. Following the acquisition, the head office of Dbvisit will remain in Auckland, with no anticipated changes to its staffing or location.
Evert den Hollander, CEO of Software Combined, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "Dbvisit is attractive for the growing Software Combined family, and our acquisition of the company is further proof of our commitment to growing our presence in New Zealand."
"Our approach is focused on providing acquired software companies a platform for continuing growth and innovation," he explained.
"Dbvisit is a perfect example of the kind of software company we want to work with – it is stable, and it has strong, deep customer relationships. We are very confident that Dbvisit will benefit from the active support that Software Combined provides."
CEO of Dbvisit, Mark Otten, shared his perspective on the acquisition.
"We want a home for our business that shares our values about business and people, providing us the environment to continue innovating and growing the way we like to. Software Combined offers exactly that," he expressed.
Software Combined's unique aggregation model not only allows it to support businesses' growth in essential markets such as Europe and the United States but also provides additional support in areas like finance, go-to-market strategies, and technical assistance.
Dbvisit, known for its high customer satisfaction rate of 99.7%, offers its Standby MultiPlatform software to ensure the constant availability of Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases. The company prides itself on making best practice disaster recovery simple and accessible, helping businesses establish resilient standby environments that safeguard against potential database failures.
Having acquired a total of eight companies since its inception in 2020, Software Combined continues to strengthen its portfolio of exceptional software businesses. The group's strategy focuses on maximising the growth potential of its acquisitions while ensuring continuity in the values and innovations that the founding teams have built.
With this acquisition, Software Combined reaffirms its commitment to the New Zealand market and to fostering the growth of innovative technology firms.
