Soltius garners first NZ AWS SAP competency; becomes full AWS reseller

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Soltius has become the first Kiwi company to gain Amazon Web Services' SAP Competency, with the IT consulting company also becoming a full AWS reseller.

The 100% Kiwi owned SAP specialist is only the second company in ANZ to achieve the SAP Competency status, which Amazon Web Services says is only awarded to SAP resellers who ‘have demonstrated success in helping customers implement, migrate and manage SAP applications on the AWS Cloud'.

Partners are required to provide at least four AWS customer references, specific to SAP projects, and have a minimum of four AWS certified staff and two staff certified in SAP technology, application or development.

The AWS competency program requires partners to demonstrate technical proficiency and proven success in specialised solutions areas.

Soltius is one of only 14 companies globally listed as SAP Workload Partners for AWS.

Nick Mulcahy, Soltius chief executive, says the move to full AWS reseller status means the IT services provider can offer additional AWS benefits that extend beyond SAP users.

“As an AWS Advanced partner and reseller we can deliver significant cost benefits to our customers, including a billing console, provide them with greater visibility of their AWS services and offer architectural advice to maximise their efficient use of the cloud,” Mulcahy says.

“This is not restricted to SAP users either - we can deliver these benefits to any New Zealand organisation that is looking to better leverage the AWS cloud to its full advantage.

Late last year Soltius began working with Amazon Web Services to build a dedicated SAP cloud practice, with Mulcahy saying the benefits of cloud - which in many cases out-performed on-premise solutions for some New Zealand businesses - meant the time had come to move beyond the database level of SAP implementations and provide a dedicated cloud offering.

By working with AWS, Soltius can offer an integrated infrastructure layer to provide a more comprehensive solution for customers, Mulcahy says.
