Syspro has launched the Syspro Marketplace for manufacturers and distributors, bringing together partner software that integrates with its ERP platform.

The marketplace is designed to give customers a single place to find and implement tools that sit alongside Syspro's core software. The initial release covers advanced analytics, CAD integration, customer relationship management, AI-driven automation, eCommerce, tax compliance and financial process optimisation.

The launch addresses a common issue in manufacturing and distribution, where companies often need software beyond core ERP for engineering workflows, reporting, customer engagement and operational oversight. The marketplace is intended to reduce the complexity, cost and risk of building and maintaining custom integrations between systems.

For ERP suppliers serving industrial customers, marketplaces have become a way to expand the reach of their platforms without developing every adjacent application in-house. They also give customers a structured way to add third-party products while keeping the ERP system at the centre of operations.

Customer demand

The first version of the marketplace focuses on the areas customers request most often. Syspro plans to add more solutions and categories over time as its partner ecosystem grows.

The launch is part of a broader effort to make the platform more extensible for the manufacturing and distribution sectors. It also reflects rising demand for connected software environments rather than isolated specialist tools that require separate integration work.

That need has become more pronounced as manufacturers and distributors look to apply artificial intelligence to day-to-day operations. In practice, this often depends less on a single AI application than on whether data and processes across design, finance, customer management and operations can work together.

Leanne Taylor, Chief Executive Officer at Syspro, described the launch as a response to operational needs in industrial businesses.

"Manufacturers and distributors need technology environments that are connected, practical and built for the realities of their operations," Taylor said. "The Syspro Marketplace makes it easier for customers to discover trusted solutions that work alongside Syspro and support the way modern industrial businesses need to operate."

Platform strategy

Syspro's approach points to an effort to strengthen the role of its ERP software as the core system in customer environments while allowing surrounding applications to come from specialist partners. That model can help software vendors meet a broader range of requirements without taking on direct responsibility for every niche function.

In manufacturing and distribution, those requirements can span product design, engineering, warehousing, finance, compliance, commerce and customer service. A curated marketplace can therefore serve as both a sales channel for partners and a procurement shortcut for customers seeking software aligned with their existing ERP estate.

Johan du Toit, Senior Vice President Strategic Growth at Syspro, said customers want more choice without added technical burden.

"Customers increasingly want the flexibility to expand capability around their ERP without introducing unnecessary complexity," du Toit said. "The Marketplace is an important step in making that easier, giving customers access to a growing ecosystem of solutions designed to work with Syspro and support operational performance."

The marketplace is now live, and more partner products and software categories will be added as it expands.
