Telarus launches web analysis tools

Thu, 29th Apr 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

New managed service aims to give businesses the tools to manage and analyse web traffic, especially Facebook.

Dubbed 'Telarus Hosted Proxy' the platform is powered by Zscaler and has been fully integrated into Telarus' Private Cloud Computing Platform.

Jules Rumsey (pictured), CEO of Telarus, explained, "Telarus Hosted Proxy is a vital tool for businesses that are struggling to effectively manage their Internet traffic and to protect themselves against web-borne viruses and malicious content. The Internet is a business critical resource these days but without appropriate tools in place, many businesses are a seeing sharp rise in access costs, problems with staff productivity and significant security challenge.”

The service is managed through a web browser and is said to allow SME businesses to define and apply internet policies for staff, as well as monitor usage.

Remote offices can also be monitored without the need for on-site hardware.

Telarus said that the proxy is also “well equipped” to deal with Web 2.0 content such as social networking sites. It can be configured to allow users to browse sites such as Facebook, while disabling their ability to post content such as comments and photos, except during designated hours such as lunchtime.

Last month the Australian telecommunications company said it would push further into the New Zealand market by targeting SMEs and signing new deals.
