Telecom extends $75 broadband plan

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Telecom has announced that the sign-up period for the $75 Home Phone and Broadband Package has been extended to the end of March.

The country's largest broadband provider says customers who sign-up to the promotion will receive a 30GB data allowance until the end of 2013. And from 2014, the plan will then revert to a monthly data allowance of 15GB.

Data use for Telecom customers is steadily increasing in-line with the year-on-year growth seen globally with on average, almost 10GB more data per customer was consumed in the month of December 2012, compared to the same month during the previous year.

“We were interested to see how Kiwis’ demands for data have increased, especially with the explosion of ‘content rich’ media hosted online – such as on-demand TV," says Chris Thompson, Telecom Retail.

"This plan offers customers the freedom to explore online products and services in ways their previous standardised plans had not given them scope to.

“The $75 Home Phone and Broadband plan has been very popular and we wanted to give as many people as possible the opportunity to sign-up and maximise that boost to 30GB data during 2013.”
