Tessell partners with HashiCorp to enhance DBaaS features

Fri, 14th Jun 2024

Tessell has announced a strategic partnership with HashiCorp to enhance its Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) offering. This collaboration aims to improve the flexibility, scalability, and security of Tessell's platform through the integration of HashiCorp's infrastructure automation tools.

HashiCorp is known for its Terraform tool, which facilitates the management of infrastructure resources through code. Tessell has been a Terraform Provider, enabling the provisioning of new databases via Terraform code with a single click. The new integration takes advantage of infrastructure as code to simplify and automate database provisioning, streamlining the process and ensuring it is both efficient and reproducible.

Additionally, Tessell will incorporate HashiCorp's Vault into its DBaaS platform. Vault offers a centralised solution for secrets management and encryption, significantly enhancing the security features of Tessell’s existing services. By utilising HashiCorp's automation and security tools, Tessell aims to allow its customers to deploy and manage databases securely and efficiently.

Bala Kuchibhotla, CEO of Tessell, commented, "Our partnership with HashiCorp further enhances our DBaaS offerings. By integrating HashiCorp's automation and security solutions into our platform, we are enabling our customers to streamline their database operations and ensure the highest level of data protection. This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to simplify database management and provide a seamless experience for our customers."

Asvin Ramesh, Senior Director of Partner Alliances at HashiCorp, added, "This collaboration with Tessell brings the power of HashiCorp's automation and security tools to their DBaaS platform. Together, we will enable organisations to leverage the benefits of cloud-native databases while ensuring the highest level of security and compliance. We look forward to a successful partnership with Tessell."

HashiCorp was named the 2023 Microsoft Global Partner of the Year for Open Source Software, with Tessell being recognised as a runner-up. Nicole Dezen, Chief Partner Officer and Corporate Vice President of Global Partner Solutions at Microsoft, expressed her approval of the collaboration, noting that it showcases the potential of innovative solutions within the Azure ecosystem.
