"We are honored to receive the 2015 Unified Communications Product of the Year Award for Toshiba's UCedge unified communications solution," says Brian Metherell, Toshiba Telecommunication Systems Division vice president and general manager.

"UCedge gives users the power to communicate how, where and when they want, via smartphone, PC or tablet, by unifying their communications across platforms."

UCedge is a single application that can be accessed on Windows and Mac laptop and desktop computers, as well as Apple and Android smartphones and tablets across Toshiba's cloud and on-premise business telephone solutions, including hybrid cloud and on-premise networked solutions.

Users can work using personal or business devices as a business phone extension, and can use UCedge from up to three devices at the same time, synchronise in the cloud, and view consolidated instanct messages and call history from any of the devices.

It gives users the same client application across devices, delivering single-number reach with business number Call ID, even when used with smartphones and tablets.

UCedge enables feature transparency across all locations, regardless of the deployment.

The service is compatible with Toshiba's VIPedge and IPedge business phone solutions as well as Strata CIX systems with an IPedge Application Server.

Licenses for the UCedge client are provided as part of the VIPedge solution, or the license is available as an option for the IPedge or Strata CIX systems.

The UCedge client for Windows and Mac computers is available as a download from the Google Chrome Web Store.

The UCedge client for mobile devices is available as a download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.  All devices require a data plan, either cellular data, Wi-Fi or LAN data access as applicable.

All winners of the 2015 Unified Communications Product of the Year Award will be published in the March 2015 edition of Internet Telephony magazine and online.
